Bitte verzeiht, dass ich das hier extrem vernachlässigt habe bisher in 2012. Ich tue nun aber mein Bestes, es wieder gut zu machen, indem ich ein paar Dinge/ Outfits zeige, die es nie in einen eigenen Beitrag im alten Jahr geschafft haben. So als Willkommensgruß für 2012/ Tschüss 2011-Spektakel-Potpourri. Los geht's!

I'm sorry for being so negligent in 2012 thus far, but I will try and make up for it by posting a few items/ outfits that never made it into a proper posting in 2011. They will be my welcome 2012/ goodbye 2011 outfit-extravaganza. Here we go!

Lovedrobe has sent me another dress for review and I'm quite surprised! Maybe you remember when I said that, last time, the dresses were a bit big for my liking, so I have now received this heart print tunic/ dress in a size 16 and it fits like a glove. It is sleeveless and has this wonderful large collar bit, I just added a cardigan and a belt (for a bit more shape) and off I go. I'm a little concerned that this might be a little too short on others, because it is quite short on me, being 5'2. It is a lovely little dress though, the hearts are adorable. (Thank you, Leanne!)

Lovedrobe haben mir ein weiteres Kleid zugeschickt und ich bin recht überrascht! Vielleicht erinnert ihr euch, dass ich das letzte Mal die Kleider ein wenig zu groß und unförmig fand. Jetzt habe ich dieses Kleid in UK 16 und es passt wie angegossen. Es ist ärmellos und hat diesen wundervollen riesigen Kragen. Ich hab noch einen Cardigan und einen Gürtel dazugesellt und fertig. Ich habe allerdings Bedenken, dass es an größeren Frauen etwas zu kurz ist, da es schon scharf an der Grenze ist für mich bei 160cm. Das Kleid ist trotzdem süß und ich liebe die Herzchen! (Dank an Leanne!)

Es ist purer Zufall (oder Rainer, ne?), dass ich dieses Outfit mit meinem heißgeliebten Fifi Lapin-Shirt zeige, kurz nachdem die tolle Lilli von Frocks and Frou Frou über ihre lange Suche nach so ziemlich dem besten T-Shirt, das die Textilindustrie zu bieten hat, bloggte. Ich ziehe es einfach furchbar gerne mit diesen braunen Shorts an. Und wirst du es glauben, eine Schülerin fragte mich hierzu: "Frau S., finden Sie echt das das zu braunen Shorts passt? Farblich? Ich würde da höchstens weiße Hosen zu tragen...". Sie ist knapp 10 Jahre jünger, sie weiß es noch nicht besser!

Letztes Mal habe ich gesagt und gezeigt, dass ich, auch wenn es richtig kalt wird, nicht auf meine Lieblingskleider verzichten möchte. Mein Kleid aus der H+M Inclusive collection kommt auch gut durch den Winter mit einer Strickjacke. Was wäre ich ohne Strickjacken? Außerdem trage ich eine wunderschöne Froschkönig-Kette, die mir von der lieben Laura von Pink Flamingo zur Verfügung gestellt wurde. Sie hat einen tollen Shop bei Dawanda, voll mit tollen Sachen! I cannot believe how late I am with this, but in June, Isabelle Oziol de Pignol, author of accrodelamode.com, dedicated a series of blog posts to ('scuse me, I'm going to use the term) fatshion, or fat women and fashion. (You can read it all here, here and here.) Not only does she cast an eye on the subject as a stylist and fashionista, she also uses her expertise as an illustrator. So in those articles you will find fantastic graphic renditions of Adele, Stéphanie, A Curious Fancy, and myself. Go check out Isabelle's blog, even if you forgot all of your French, her "message in a bottle" - her words describing her blog - is amazing to click through. I asked her for her permission to use her artwork as part of my new header, and she said yes! <3

Although this outfit is from last year, I still dig it. Will put it together once more soon-ish :).

Phew, it's been a while, I know. But when it comes to outfits, I must say that for the past two weeks, I have either been wearing the shift dress from my last post or my new puppy print dress. Of course, both have had an encounter with water and soap, in case you're worried :).

Apart from that, I got some new shoes that will hopefully keep me warm and dry and pretty throughout autumn and winter.

Huch, jetzt ist schon wieder einiges an Zeit verstrichen. Aber Outfit-technisch habe ich in den letzten Wochen nicht viel anderes als mein schwarzes Etuikleid aus dem letzten Post oder mein neues Kleid mit Hündchenmuster getragen. Schaltet bitte eure Fernsehgeräte ein: ZDF Drehscheibe Deutschland. Da gibt es dann einen Beitrag, wo ich euch wieder einen vorlispel (wahrscheinlich!). :)

Bis dahin, mein neues kleines Schwarzes. Mehr Adjektive könnte ich theoretisch einfügen, denn es schon jetzt ein Liebling, auch wenn es durch und durch ein Basic-Teil ist. Die Größen spielen allerdings verrückt: Habe es in M, auch wenn ziemlich eng ist, weil L gleich gefühlte 3 m länger und weiter ist. Ich erzähl später noch mehr dazu, bin gerade etwas aufgeregt!

I'm sorry that I have been a little lazy on here, but I was working loads and spending quality time with lovely friends. But here is something I wore last week when I was teaching. I really don't wear tops like this one a lot because they are hard to pull off when you're chubby (it certainly doesn't help when your boyfriend says it makes you look butch :)). But hey, it's my favourite band shirt, what can I say. I tried making the rest look extra girly.

Lovedrobe asked me a while ago to review some of their clothes and I gladly accepted, knowing that their range is a little less boring than the usual stuff plus size retailers have to offer (and they're Manchester-based, whehey!). I still find it really hard to like plus size clothing and I still believe that retailers don't cater to women who need plus size clothing enough. Lovedrobe has sent me two LBDs who prove that plus size doen't necessarily mean baggy and boring. Both dresses are UK size 18.

Lovedrobe hat mich gefragt, ob ich Lust dazu hätte, ein paar Teile auszuprobieren und ich habe gerne ja gesagt, weil die Teile, die ich kannte, nicht so langweilig wie viele anderer Übergrößenmode-Labels wirken. Mir gefallen die meisten Sachen in Übergröße nach wie vor nicht, da es vor allem nicht genügend Anbieter gibt, die schöne Mode in Übergröße anbieten. Lovedrobe hat mir zwei Kleine Schwarze zugeschickt, die zeigen, dass Plus Size nicht unbedingt sackig und langweilig heißen muss. Beide Kleider sind UK-Größe 18 (etwa 44-46).

Dress Nr. 1

Here's my verdict:
I was really looking forward to this one because of the fancy handcuff detailing. This dress, however, is too big for me in a size 18 and the sleeves are too long. I teamed it with a black waistbelt (not part of the dress) and it makes a huge difference, unfortunately though, it then loses its 60s swing-dress appeal for me. I'm very suprised with the length of the dress in a positive way because it is just perfect for my height. This one definitely works for a night out.

Meine Meinung:
Auf dieses Kleid habe ich mich sehr gefreut wegen der Details am Handgelenk. Allerdings ist es irgendwie viel zu groß und die Ärmel sind zu lang. Ich habe einen schwarzen Taillengürtel dazu angezogen und es macht einen riesen Unterschied. Es ist nur schade, dass es dann nicht mehr so nach 60er Jahre Swingkleid aussieht. Positiv überrascht bin ich von der Länge, weil die gut für meine Größe ist. Definitiv ein Kleid zum Weggehen.

Dress Nr. 2

Here's my verdict:
I immediately liked this one when I put it on because it has a nicer fit - for some reason, being the same size as the other dress, this one fits like a glove. It has an attached tightly-fitted undergarment that seems to be supershort. The pleats are gorgeous and flare out on the skirt. It comes with a small belt made from the same material as the dress.

Dieses hat mir sofort gefallen als ich es angezogen habe, weil es prima passt. Aus irgendeinem Grund passt es, obwohl es dieselbe Größe wie der Vorgänger hat, ziemlich genau. Drunter hat es noch ein enges Unterkleid, das sehr sehr kurz ist. Das Plissee ist super und verläuft sich im Rock. Der schmale Gürtel ist Teil des Kleids und aus dem selben Material.

One thing I am disappointed in, generally when it comes to most clothes retailers, is the material they use. Both dresses are made from polyester and I have read the same in quite a lot of stuff I looked at/ bought recently. I prefer more air-permeable fabrics, mainly because they are nicer to wear.

Etwas, das mir generell sehr missfällt bei den meisten Herstellern, ist das Material. Beide Kleider sind aus Polyester und ich eben dieses lese ich auf so unendlich vielen Teilen, die ich in letzter Zeit gesehen/ gekauft habe. Ich mag luftdurchlässige Stoffe viel lieber, besonders vom Tragegefühl her.

... and i found it in my old wardrobe at my parents' place. it is full of old clothes that i will never wear again (because they look their age, stylewise), apart from this super super soft h+m cardigan. it is so old, it has one of those "hennes" tags from the early noughties. i remember wearing this when i was 13, approximately. it is doing a good job at looking nice and keeping me warm, at 25 also.

and i found a pair of leather ballerina shoes at zara, for 20 eur in the sales! leather inside and out.

it is getting lots and lots of outings with the weather being so cold!

so i figured i was lacking space in the wardrobe (i need a 2nd one) and drowning in beautiful clothes (which made me sell some), and then h+m comes along with a sh*tload of ballet-inspired garments. as soon as i saw this skirt from the collection, i knew it. i knew we would be best friends for life. and that i will not stop pirouetting in it, simply because i can, with a skirt like that.

yes, i may as well also team it with a belt and wear it as a dress. if you intend to buy it and, like me, are a shorty, go for medium. it will also fit nicely and kind of be midi-long, which is the style of it.

JEWLSCPH were showing some love by sending me a very, very neat necklace. the name stands for jewels copenhagen and they offer real gold-plated and silver jewellery with delicate details like mine has. my necklace symbolises tolerance, the chain carrying symbols for christianity, judaism, and islam.

it comes in a pretty box...

it's nice owning a piece of golden jewellery that won't leave greenish stains on your neck when the weather is as hot as it was throughout the week. thanks to mai manniche, the designer, and julia for this lovely piece.

i've been sporting this updo quite a lot recently and i thought i'd share it with you. if you too suffer from backcomb-phobia, here's what you need to do: get a hair donut - squeeze it together - pull a long hairband around it, in the same colour as the donut - place sqeezed hair donut (which is now a long-ish hair bun) under top hair - pin it to your head - twist remaining hair into a real bun, or whatever takes your fancy. be fabulous.

i will not post a song this time because part of the inspiration for this look was keiko lynn's hair tutorial. so glad i know now how she gets to look so pretty. well she looks pretty even without the messy bun. i had a go at it and it turned out OK. i have developped a backcomb-phobia, because i'm so afraid i might ruin my hair by excessive backcombing, which is why my messy bun is not as fluffy.

i am posting this song because 1) my boyfriend starts singing this whenever i am in the midst of preparing delicious delicacies (like, curries. they are the new spagbol in this household) and 2) i am pretty sure that this song helped me and my friends win the 3rd place at a pub quiz last night. and also, it's quite catchy!
i went to hamburg a few weeks ago and had to check out monki and got this dress for a 10er in the sales!

before i start properly, is it just me or does "safari disco club" remind you of this, which yelle posted ages ago on her fb? just a thought :). it does have a similar beat! anyways, i'm glad she is back.
outfit-wise, this is going to get a little coral. i am almost as late with posting a little review of h+m's inclusive collection as i am with the latest yelle tune. i had ordered three pieces from the collection. here is what i kept:

it's a little too formal for everyday use but i found easter as an excuse to keep it. didn't wear it during the easter holidays, but on mother's day (which was last sunday here in germany).

didn't keep this skirt. although i had ordered it a size smaller than usual, it is still very much too long for me. it felt too bulky. nice skirt though!

around the same time as my order arrived i bought this fantastic coral number at primark, and i love love love it. it's the perfect party dress. as this is my first asymmetrical dress, i will have to get used to feeling semi-cold when i'm going out. i can learn.

i got the same frame for my (corrective) sunglasses like i have for my normal specs. not black, but brownish as the shade of the glasses is brown. it's a whole new life withouth having to squint in the sunshine whilst still seeing things properly, i'm telling you. so here's me being a cool dude with sunglasses in the comfort of my own home.

ich habe mir den selben rahmen für meine (mit stärke versehene) sonnenbrille wie für meine normale brille zugelegt. nicht schwarz, aber braun, da die gläser auch braun sind. es ist ein ganz neues lebensgefühl, wenn man in der sonne nicht mehr die augen zusammenkneifen muss, aber trotzdem den durchblick hat. also hier bin ich mal ganz cool und trage die sonnenbrille daheim.

back on october, when I got to present my blog on german telly, i had to try on some dresses at zara (making it work for a fat girl and all that jazz). and i was glad i found so many pretty things that fit me, but realised again that zara is way too expensive for what it is. i never bought any of the stuff i tried on, hoping for them to maybe dish out some freebies.
to my surprise though, i found one of the dresses i tried on on that exciting day in the sales. it was reduced from 40 to 7 euros. and it is now mine and will forever remind me of the television experience :).
pay no attention to the imbecile facial expression and wobbliness of the pictures...

damals im oktober, als ich meinen blog im fernsehen präsentieren durfte, musste ich ein paar teile bei zara anprobieren (à la: manchmal passen die sachen auch fetties). ich war damals froh, so viele schöne teile, die passten, gefunden zu haben, aber ich stellte auch wieder fest, dass zara für das, was es ist, viel zu teuer ist. also habe ich keines der teile gekauft, in der hoffnung, dass der shop manager vielleicht 'was rausrückt.
überraschenderweise fand ich dann letztes eines der kleider, die ich an diesem aufregenden tag anhatte, im schlussverkauf. es war von 40 auf 7 euros reduziert. jetzt gehört es mir und wird mich für immer an mein fernseh-abenteuer erinnern :).

Über Blog-Kritik

Ich wurde schon oft befragt, wie ich mit Kritik auf meinen Blog umgehe. Und immer wieder habe ich ganz ehrlich geantwortet, dass mich persönlich bisher noch nie ernste Kritik erreicht hat, im Sinne von: Es hat noch nie jemand hier gepöbelt. Denn das erwartet man von der Darstellung bzw. Zurschaustellung von übergewichtigen Menschen ganz automatisch. Einmal hat ein Leser oder eine Leserin - bezeichnenderweise anonym - kritisiert, dass ich Crystal Renn für ein Idol halte. Das habe ich natürlich nicht gelöscht, und ich habe sofort darauf reagiert. Ich musste hier noch nie einen Kommentar löschen, es sei denn, es handelte sich um Spam.

In den letzten Tagen häuft sich allerdings die Kritik in den Foren von Modezeitschriften. Zusammengefasst lauten viele Wortmeldungen etwa so: Adipöse Frauen sollten nicht bloggen, nein, sie sollten lieber abnehmen. Das wirft für mich ein paar Fragen auf: Heißt das in der Konsequenz, dass ich z.B. bis ich abgenommen habe, besser gar nichts Auffälliges trage? Am besten schwarz, am besten in Zeltform? Und meine Visage sowie meinen Körper (also meine Person) am besten niemand zu Gesicht bekommt? Dass ich es mir nicht anmaßen sollte, mein Gesicht (auch noch dazu) mit einer auffälligen Brille zu schmücken? Was erdreisten sich manche Menschen?!

Ich kann Kritik in einem gesundheitlichen Diskurs gar nicht widerlegen. Fettleibigkeit ist eine Volkskrankheit und ich bin davon offensichtlich betroffen. Das Schlimme und Perfide allerdings ist, dass "fett" für die meisten nicht nur "übergewichtig" bedeutet, sonden stets synonym mit hässlich, faul, dumm ist. Vor allem ersteres verleitet viele weiter zu dem Kritikpunkt: Wer dick ist, darf nicht Körperbetont tragen. Wiederum muss ich fragen: Mit welcher Begründung, außer der, dass das medial geprägte Konzept von Ästhetik nunmal das Gros der Frauen komplett und konsequent ausschließt? Ich finde das aberwitzig. Und wer sich durch seinen persönlichen Begriff von Schönheit mit diesem Blog hier nicht vereinbaren kann, der braucht hier auch nicht zu schauen und zu lesen und kann sich stattdessen in der Hülle und Fülle der Blogs einen suchen, der eher passt. Zweiter Punkt, die Faulheit. Ich für mich kann sagen, dass ein Mangel an Disziplin sicherlich nicht zuträglich für mein Körpergewicht ist. Ich muss meine Disziplin hier aber überhaupt nicht rechtfertigen. Das ist das Schöne am Bloggen. Ich darf hier machen, was ich will. Der (gut gemeinte?) Zeigefinger kann also gerne wieder runter genommen werden, ich bin alt genug und drittens: nicht dumm! Das stört mich am allermeisten, dass manche davon ausgehen, dass man "es nicht besser weiß" oder auch zu dumm für ein gescheites Gehör ist. Auch ich bin im Stande zu vernehmen, wenn mich jemand hinter vorgehaltener Hand auf das äußerliche Merkmal, das als erstes ins Auge springt, reduziert. Ich muss mich wiederholen: Mit welchem Recht? Mir ist das schon bewusst, dass das zum Menschsein gehört, auf Andersartigkeit zu reagieren - aber es auszusprechen, wenn es zumal negativ behaftet ist? Ein Zeichen von Unreife und mangelndem Respekt.

Ich fühle mich auch fast ein bisschen unreif, dass ich das hier überhaupt schreibe, aber es kränkt mich zu lesen, wie in Foren über andere (nicht mich im Speziellen) geurteilt wird. Nicht, dass das nicht normal wäre. Ich mache das auch, mit guten Freunden. Über andere zu urteilen ist menschlich, genauso wie es menschlich ist, seinen Geschmack publik zu machen. Aber anonym, bzw. durch eine Internetidentität, wird das in meinen Augen ganz schnell ganz lächerlich. Im "echten Leben" könnt ihr euch doch auch nicht erdreisten, auf so eine Weise zu reden, also in aller Öffentlichkeit, dass es jeder hört/ liest? Wo landen wir da? Wahrscheinlich beim Szenario im zweiten Absatz. Ohne das, wie schon erwähnt, speziell auf mich zu münzen: Krankheiten heilen ja bekanntlich besser bei wenig Selbstachtung gepaart mit Häme?! Unmöglich.

Nachtrag:
Ebenfalls unmöglich ist der Ton und die Vorgehensweise der Kritik an jungen (also U18) Bloggern. Auch hier möchte ich schreien: Die Häme heilt hier gar nichts und wer sich pädagogisch auserkoren fühlt, geht mit Bloßstellung und Sarkasmus den falschen Weg. Das ist so furchtbar teilweise, mir ist heute der Kragen geplatzt.

Nachtrag 2:

Ich schreibe ganz bewusst, dass ich nicht mich im Speziellen meine, da ich mich, dank vorhandener Selbstachtung, nicht von Forenschreiberinnen pathalogisieren lasse. Dieses Schicksal sollte Niemand erfahren, da es (entschuldigt die Wiederholung) schließlich weder einer eventuellen Essstörung noch sonstigen psychischen Leiden zuträglich ist. Außerdem rechtfertigt die bloße Existenz (eines Blogs mit eigenen Bildern z.B.) nicht unreflektierte Unkenrufe. Wie gesagt, das wäre, für meine Begriffe, im "echten Leben" auch undenkbar.

Auf der Suche nach einem Putzeimer (meiner ging nach 5 Jahren kaputt... wieso?) fand ich im Kik einen Boyfriend Blazer aus weichem Sweatshirtstoff. Das ist seitdem mein smarter Cardigan-Ersatz. Macht sich gut im Büro und überall da, wo man sonst noch Eindruck schinden will. Also quasi überall. Top Tip! (Ich erspare euch Bilder von dem Eimer). Dafür aber einmal der Blazer beim unterrichten (also er hat jetzt nicht wahnsinnig viel unterrichtet, aber you know), und einmal beim Kaffekochen/Kopieren.

Whilst looking for a cleaning bucket (mine broke after 5 years... how come?), I stumbled across a boyfriend blazer made from a sweater fabric. It has since been my smart cardi replacement. It's well good at the office and all other places where you wish to make a lasting impression. Which is like everywhere. (I will spare you pictures of my bucket). However, here are two versions: The teacher-blazer and the secretary-blazer.

na? ich hoffe, ihr seid alle fit. bitte entschuldigt, wenn es hier große pausen zwischen den posts gibt. mir fehlt zwischen uni und arbeiten, besonders letzteres, oft die zeit, bilder zu machen, geschweige denn sie auf den pc zu ziehen und mir dann noch 'was zu überlegen so als rahmentext. aber heute is' mir 'was eingefallen :)
ein(e) kommentator(in) wünscht sich bessere bilder. ich auch! aber ich habe andere prioritäten als eine spiegelreflexkamera (mist, wieder einen punkt auf der standard-blogger-checklist verloren). meine kamera (aka telefon) macht ziemlich gute bilder, aber ich habe kein stativ und, viel schlimmer, keine zeit. ich hoffe, ihr könnt weiterhin noch ein bisschen mit bildmaterial wie dem folgenden vorlieb nehmen. bitte-danke :)

i feel a little bad for spamming you with the divine comedy, but i cannot help it. i only recently purchased the new album (bang goes the knighthood - AWESOME!). and it's come to a point where i keep looking up all things neil hannon. i completely missed the fact that he split up with his wife. funnily though, he is dating his current support act: cathy davey (mind you, i read this on wikipedia). she has a very sweet voice and apparently (yes, wikipedia...) she is very big in ireland. her music is really growing on me (not just because she is dating one of my favourite singer-songwriters ever, alright!).

so, here's an unorderly account of recent purchases that i love love love.

1. the panda hat from c+a. a bit of trivia for you: the first day i wore this hat, a bird shat on it. for the first time in my entire life, it rained birdpoo on me. it was one of the most disgusting things i can imagine. me and my friend julia were close to gagging when i washed it out of my hat and my hair. i apologise if you find this disturbing :)
2. the band shirt. someone was asking for a picture of it, so here it is. i feel a bit butch wearing normal tshirts, but i had to have it.
3. the dotted shirt from h+m. i saw it in the sales and it made me smile.

oh je, macht mal schnell eure fernsehgeräte an: heute kommt tatsächlich schon der beitrag in punkt 12 bei RTL. in der vorschau kam schon was wie "warum die modetipps der pfundigen alegra kultstatus haben". ich weiß grad nicht, ob ich pfundig noch schöner finde als mollig (hass-wort), aber bisher hab ich noch gut lachen.

12:15 - wieder was gelernt: wir essen gerne SchniPo. heut is wohl genereller fetti-tag bei RTL. :)

es lief noch nicht, bald... ganz bald :D

in case you were wondering why my last post was a bit short: i was blogging it while being filmed. how awkward :). so, yesterday a reporter, a camera man and a sound guy came to my flat and took footage of me reading a magazine (from 2009 haha... random pick from my massive magazine pile), browsing through blogs, wearing stuff from my wordrobe (had to pick 5 outfits in a hurry) and then in zara. their biggest size (extra large and 42) hardly ever fits, but i did manage to find 3 dresses, 1 skirt and 1 woolly cardi that i absolutely loved and i made puppy eyes towards the shop manager to give it me for free but he was having none of it. the darn thing cost 70€! nevermind. the weirdest thing was when the reporter lady picked random people on the street to look at me and guess what i'm interested in. best answer: "i think, deep in her heart, she really cares for animals". cuteness. i'm so so nervous about the outcome and how they are cutting the whole thing together. so excited. but it was a cool experience, the team was really friendly - thank you!- and i was able to calm down because my bestie julia and my boyfriend were there to hold my hand, lovage. i will let everyone know when it's aired. i suppose only germans will be able to watch the online recap of it.
i treated myself right after with a jumper that i really really wanted. i have a laptop with a webcam now (writing my thesis is getting closer...). so now i can basically spam you with narcissistic webcam shots! lucky lucky you.

and i got these fantastic pyjamas on monday. there are A's all over it. it must be for Alegra. and there are cupcakes that say "eat me" and vials that say "drink me", and bunny rabbits. they are by no means alice-themed.

there are so many changes going on here at the moment. i have a third job now and uni starts again in late october and i don't know how i'm going to cope.
since that maxi article, many interesting and exciting things are coming my way and it scares me a little. i love the maxi article (see the features page above) and i especially love my friend dani's article that she wrote for a german school mag (i'm a future teacher who's well down with the kids now!). it's in german as well and you can read it here on yaez.de. thank you dani!

you know i'm not one for big gigs. it's just not my kinda thing, i don't like huge crowds of people (the carnival in mainz is borderline frightening) and i hate mud (so no festivals for me, thank you). hence, i have only been to very few gigs in my life. if you care, the bands i've seen so far are as follows: bellini (samba de janeiro. it was the 90s), die fantastischen vier (biggest gig so far for me), Louis XIV, Yelle (i only got to see like 20 min of her, sad face), the teenagers (fun times), auletta (big up mainz!) and those dancing days (best gig so far). in october, neil hannon aka the divine comedy will be added to the list, i'm so excited! watch!

let's start with a true 90s classic. when i saw this video for the 1st time, i must have been the same age as the girl in the video. and the same weight. i have always been a chubby kid, with glasses. but so far, i haven't had my fair share of wearing a bee costume...
i did get round to wearing this fantastic primark shift dress recently though! i bought it last year and rarely wear it cos i always fear it might be too much. but how can it be too much if it's so pretty really? look at it, golden buttons, pleat detail, coral colour. it is not as neon as it appears to be in the pictures, mind you. it has a lovely shade. i paired it with my new bambi necklace. now, i might loose your sympathy saying this, but i have never watched bambi. ah well, i have so many years ahead of me for doing that, and wearing bee costumes. and tap dancing.

also, ages ago, someone asked me something about my fringe. i cut it myself, at least once a week. frankly, i can't afford hair dressers so i only have the long part of my hair cut maybe twice a year. but i don't let anyone else touch my fringe!

i just have to blog this quickly before i forget. i just found something that combines 2 of my favourite things: franz ferdinand and marion cotillard. i went to see inception on tuesday and while it is a mediocre film all in all, marion is a vision. she's like a french anna friel. i've had a really lazy lie-in today and watched jeux d'enfants, and if amélie is lacking a bit of romance and kisses for you, then that's your film. the best thing about her though is her voice. which is also why nine was bearable whenever she came on scene (apart from that, it's rubbish! worst musical film everrr. and yes, i do remember grease 2).
so, if you haven't seen this already, i recommend that you do so now. i don't care if this was made for dior and what not. MARION! FRANZ F! she can totally pull off a man's suit.

i can also never leave the house without my primark denim shirt. it does to me what american apparel does to other people. it makes me think i'm cool.

and, wearing this zara shirt, you can see me double.

kele from bloc party released a brilliant brilliant solo single, tenderoni. i love love love the sound of it, it reminds me of one of my alltime favourites. he is so fit though, watch the hotness!

or would you rather be chromeo's tenderoni? this was released in 2007. not bad either!

oh my, it's boiling here... at last! apparently it's gonna get as hot as 37° during the weekend. you can find me in the pool! found a brilliant swimsuit in c+a a few weeks ago. i like it so much, i was willing to go swimming at only 24°, had i found someone to come along.
for now, some outfits i wore weeks (months?) ago, in bad quality i'm afraid.

i hope this recipe will make up for the long wait. i made up this dessert yesterday and it is fantastic. basically, i guess it's just like frozen yoghurt.

what you need:

- a bit more than a handful of various frozen fruit, i used mango, pineapple and raspberries
- natural yoghurt, i used 3,5% fat yog
- a blender

how do i turn these ingredients into a delicious dessert? i hear you ask.

- put the fruit into your blender and wait about 10 min (you can skip the wait if you own a high quality blender that could crush ice)
- add the yoghurt and... blend it :)
